ProfitShare Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Trudi Makhaya as a non-executive director on the board, effective February 2018.

Trudi is an economist and currently the CEO of a research, advisory and stakeholder engagement firm, Makhaya Advisory. She serves as a non-executive director at Vumelana Advisory Fund and MTN South Africa.

Trudi holds an MBA and an MSc in Development Economics from Oxford University, where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar. She also holds degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand, including an MCom in Economics and a BCom (Law). As an active public commentator, Trudi writes for the Business Day and has published academic articles on competition economics and policy.

Trudi was a member of the economics team, and later the executive committee at the Competition Commission of South Africa from 2010 to 2014. She represented the Commission at various international fora including the OECD, BRICS, International Competition Network and the African Competition Forum. Before that, Trudi held management consulting and corporate roles at Deloitte Consulting, Genesis Analytics and Anglogold Ashanti.
